Fashion came to Trinidad and Tobago on top of a big truck! Complete with loud blaring music and a Carnivalistic atmosphere!
Season 9 Project Runway winner Anya Ayoung-Chee held her very first fashion show in her homeland. Anya staged a fashion coup at the famous Ariapita Avenue in Trinidad, where she put on her first stunning fashion show labelled Anya Ayoung-Chee ‘Fashion Rocks The Avenue.‘ And what a resounding success it was, as a mammoth crowd showed up for the epic event!
“I had decided in my head for a few years and it seemed so outlandish that I never thought it would come to fruition, and then…I’m speechless!” Anya said.

Anya explains the concept behind her collection, “The collection is called ‘Carnival of Colour’, and as you can tell its a whole range of a palette of colour and it was really designed for a resort environment, but then I extended the collection to be able to risk Carnival. How you dress to a fete, how you dress to a party, that kinda vibe.”
“I think this is a way to continue to promote Trinidad, in an innovative way. In a way that has not been seen before and we want to continue to find ways to do that so think it definitely helps that I would want the show and now I can say a little bit more about what I think about how fashion should be promoted.”
